MPS and Drent Goebel, both of the Netherlands, have announced an agreement whereby Drent Goebel will deliver offset printing stations to MPS for integration into new MPS press lines. MPS manufactures narrow web UV flexo presses.

“We noticed an increasing demand for offset print quality in the narrow web label and packaging market lately,” says Eric Hoendervangers, managing director of MPS. “In reaction to this trend, we asked Drent Goebel if they would be interested in supplying us with the necessary offset technology for our narrow web flexo presses.” Rob J. Teunissen, CEO of Drent Goebel, adds, “We are pleased to support MPS with our offset know-how and to deliver our offset technology in their narrow web presses.”

MPS, says Hoendervangers, is convinced that hybrid technology is the future for label and packaging printing. “Not just because of its fantastic flexibility and capability, but the packaging market needs solutions for optimized (brand) color accuracy, brightness and sharp details. The hybrid printing machine that MPS can now offer will fulfill the required print quality in the shortest possible time and lowest cost price per 1,000 labels,” he says.

Drent Goebel manufactures web offset equipment for printers of label and flexible packaging, direct mail, commercial printing, business forms, paperboard and security documents including banknotes and stamps.
